The Twin Cities’ Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parade will celebrate its 42nd year of Mardi Gras tradition and flavor in the Twin Cities in 2025. The Twin Cities' Krewe of Janus Parade has entertained revelers since 1984 who eagerly gather along the 3.8-mile route through West Monroe and Monroe. The KOJ Parade is Northeast Louisiana’s oldest and most recognized Mardi Gras Parade. The parade includes nearly 50 units featuring several High School bands! The Parade has been recognized as one of the Top 20 Tourism Events in the South for three consecutive years as well as a Top 10 Attraction by the Southeastern Tourism Association.

Meet Grand Marshal Phillip Mark Thomas. He is married to Sharon, and they have 1 son and 2 grandchildren.  Phillip is the founder and president of Precision Paper & Board.  In 1997 he helped start Angel Flight in Louisiana with Richard “Doc” Worthington and served on the Executive Board of Angel Flight South Central in Addison, Texas, from 1998 to 2005 covering 5 states.  Phillip served on the Board of Directors of the Houston Ground Angels and Pilots for 2 years beginning in 2006.  In 2008, he established Pilots for Patients where he presently serves as Director/President.  Phillip is the recipient of multiple awards: 2009 Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Louisiana Angel Award, Equitable Profiles in Caring – Ambassadors of Caring Ward for Outstanding Contribution in helping those in need, Second recipient of the LA DOTD-Aviation- Friend of Aviation Award, Humanitarian Award -City of Monroe, LA.  Phillip was also voted the Delta Style Magazine’s Healthcare Hero Volunteer in 2014 and was awarded the Keys to the City of Monroe, LA by Mayor Friday Ellis in 2023.  In 2024, Pilots for Patients acquired the CenturyLink Aviation offices at the Monroe Regional Airport.  Pilots for Patients is showcased at the Chennault Air & Aviation Museum as a Louisiana based volunteer pilot organization, the only one of its kind in the State of Louisiana.  Phillip is a member of the AOPA, Air Care Alliance, Alliance for Aviation Across America, member of Christ Church, West Monroe.
